Jacko's Final Curtain Call 15 Years, 1 Month ago
I'm sad to hear that the London O2 Arena concerts in July will be Michael Jackson's final concerts in London. He will be sadly missed if it is true. It is a shame that he can't tour around the country and give more people the chance to see him, rather than play several nights at the, in my opinion awfull O2 Arena, which has poor acoustics, is very cold and difficult to get too.

I'd be very surprised if he manages to sell all the tickets.

Whats the old devil playing at? Could the rumours that he is ill be true? If so could it be terminal? Or is he just suffering from delusions of granduer? Thinking he still means anything to fans who have long since moved on to more entertaining acts. Lets face it hes been trading on Thriller since its release. King of pop? Since BAD its been more like King of Poop. And of course had he been less powerful hed have been in the nick long before now.Why the O2? could it be that Wembley stadium is too big nowadays?

I don't think he is ill at all. I haven't seem him looking so well for years. As far as ticket sales go, even though he hasn't made a decent single in over 15 years (black or white), he has got an impressive back catalogue. Prince hasn't made any decent singles for years, yet he sold out for over 21 nights. I've no doubt that Jacko will sell out in minutes, as long as the tickets aren't madonnaes-que prices. Some people will even go along for the freak show element.

Having seen Jacko at Wembley in the early 90s - and a no show the first time....I can safely say that fans will get value for money. He does put on amazing spectacles and the crowd genuinely go mental. There is something about him that is weird......anyone on here ever met him ? what is he really like ?

He is the "Last Great Pop Star" in my view - he is the only star who could create scenes like the ones yesterday accross generations. These concerts may be seen as the "end of Pop" as a social force. A full stop after 50 years of being the dominant art form in society. The Beatles started it and Jackson will bring the curtain down.
