changes at ITV 15 Years, 1 Month ago
This is where shows such as Countdown, Emmerdale, Heartbeat and The Royal are filmed. Countdown and Emmerdale will be transfered to Manchester. Heartbeat and The Royal, two of ITV's biggest rating shows, have been cancelled.

The only ITV1 show I make a point of watching is Heartbeat. I also watch The Royal and Wild at Heart. Each of these is in the Sunday night 8pm slot, which became the 8.20pm slot, then the 8.15pm slot, to accomodate DOI. I watch those shows as a way to chill out on Sunday evening. If they make a new Midsomer Murders or Foyle or Frost, then I'll check those out, although John Nettles is retiring from Midsomer Murders, David Jason is retiring from Frost, and a new series of Foyle is in the balance with financies the way they are. It looks as though there will be more "reality shows" and celebrity specials, most likely involving cookery, antiques, make overs and more dancing.

I can't see myself watching much ITV1 in the future, although I'll likely still watch a fair bit on ITV3. If they want to save money they can axe ITV2.

We only watch 2 ITV programmes. Heartbeat and Midsummer Murders - and the occasional Robson Green City Lights series.

The rest of ITV output is very poor and soap operas are not watched at all. Their "Reality" shows such as X factor and Ice Dancing are total rubbish.

I am suprised that they are cutting their biggest weekend show ( Heartbeat ) and John Nettles should have been offered millions to stay - it will not be the same without him - though the format will always work.

Very sad news. Further dumbing down.

I don't think ITV can afford to spend millions on keeping John Nettles. Also it's no wonder ITV are struggling, when they pay ridiculous salaries to Phillip Shofield (£40,000) a programme, for a daytime programme. Its not like he has got a great personality, he's just an 80's has-been from children's tv. Also Ant and Dec get paid millions for being immature little munchkins. These salaries were decided when tv was in a much better state. Now with online watching and sky plus people aren't watching as much adverts and thus advertising is going down, tv presenters are going to have to take home much smaller salaries in the future.
