I've always found The Pet Shop Boys to be a boring, uninspiring act who were years behind everyone else. Soft Cell, Blancmange, Tears For Fears, Yazoo and others were electro-pop duos in 81/82, PSB came out with the same sort of thing in 1985, 4-5 years later.
