71% of what we pay at the Garage is duty to Gordon Brown.

This means out of every £10 you put into your petrol tank £7.10 goes to Gordon Brown in two weeks time which seems ridiculous in a recession.

It is astonishing in the biggest downturn in history that Gordon Brown has not cancelled this tax rise.

Putting up the cost of Petrol will :

1. Destroy another large number of transport companies

2. Put up the cost of food and goods by 2% ( which will add £10 to the monthly shopping bill at a time when wages are frozen or going down ) That is an extra £120 a year for food.

3. Stop people going out to events and pubs etc even more. Probably it will cut a further 10% of away fan numbers next season in the Football League.

4. Put more coach companies costs up making a ticket for each game go up by 50p ( Though it will have to be rounded up to a £1 )

VAT was brought down by 2.5% which BROWN heralded as a massive boost to the economy. Therefore it is safe to say a 2% increase on costs at this time will have even more effect because it is on everything at a time the recession is deepeneing.

Only a Government that had lost control would be taxing the economy at this time rather than helping people.

BROWN has shown again he could not care less about the people of the UK.
