TOPIC: Trivia dominates the news
#42535
Trivia dominates the news 15 Years, 2 Months ago
Am I becoming a conspiracy theorist?
When the news is about Jane Goody dying, ministers second homes, big pension contracts for bankers...

Yet all the really serious stuff seems to be deliberately ignored.

Surely there cannot be a politician/media link just like the police/media/justice trilogy we all know about?

Current British polticians are just a bunch of wimps and media tarts.

They go cap in hand, cringing at the feet of editors and ask "how high" when they get their orders to jump.

I simply watched in amazement as the thoroughly bonkers Tony Blair allowed his vile press manager Alistair Campbell practically run the government and twist the message to wage war on Iraq.

Journalists shook in Campbell's shadow..terrified of the bully. It's utterley bizzare.

I mean I couldn't bear to be a room with Gordon Brown..how in the hell did a charisma by-pass fool like this end up as PM?

Yet pollies with a few convictions..love or loathe them, like George Galloway or Ken Livingstone tels them where to shove it and the public loves them ! Michael Meacher speaks complete common sense and the media just ignore him or act as though he's an eccentric to be patronied.

It's a mystery to me !
