England v Ukraine = woeful 15 Years, 1 Month ago
Neither side deserved to win. Awful passing and terrible tactics all round. Beckham a waste of space again (sorry, JK). I persevered with it, but it was hard work to stay interested.

Terrible game. I've seen better at Sunday league level.

Australia v Uzbekistan= briliant !

" A hard-fought 2-0 win over Uzbekistan at ANZ Stadium last night put the Socceroos within touching distance of their second successive appearance at the World Cup."

2 goals but none of them were spectacular Terry was just there at the right time Crouch is just lucky to be tall.

Beckham did nothing Gerrard is always out his depth in International only in Premier League is where you see him all the time on the pitch.

England were boring, but effective. They have played 5 and won 5 in a relatively easy group, with none of the big 5 in it (Italy, Germany, France, Spain, or Holland).
You can't really complain about a 100% record.

I think the main gripe is that England have struggled to win against lesser opposition. This does not bode well for when they meet stronger teams such as Portugal, Brazil or Spain. It could be argued that they would raise their game against a better side but, unfortunately, this seldom happens.

Too much focus is still on Beckham; bringing him on so that he can get his record number of caps, instead of fielding our talented fitter players. Yes, he crossed a ball which resulted in a goal, but any professional player can do that, and many have done so for England. No praise for the guy who got on the end of the ball and scored, just a lot of drooling over the "iconic" Beckham who did nothing else of significance in the entire game. He cannot last 90 minutes and it's time for him to retire, for the good of his country.

England's two best players didn't get a look in. Theo Walcott and Kevin Davies (top English scorer in Premiership). Ukraine were terrible, giving the ball away and failing to challenge, until Shevchenko came on. England could have won that game much more comfortably with the right players.

England will win no major competitions as long as they think it's fine to just muddle through. So, yes, the fans can complain.
