citizens foil police "sexting" enquiry 15 Years ago
maybe some sense at last people conspire in Oz nip in the bud a weirdo police investigation.

This is the oddest of "crimes" where the person involved..a girl and her boyfriend become "victim" & "offendor" at the same time.

I'm surprised the kids who deleted the image haven't been charged with hindering an investigation !

I truly believe those who devise laws invoving innocent kids like this and implement them need serious psychological profiling..their obsession with sex is strange. And some sensible comments from a pschologist.

A 13-YEAR-old Sydney schoolgirl who sent a nude photo of herself to her teenage boyfriend was investigated by police in one of the first Australian cases of illegal "sexting".

The incident, involving a Year 8 student at Brigidine College, Randwick, was reported by the principal to police and to the Department of Community Services last week.
Both teens could have faced charges of manufacturing or distributing child pornography, but police hit a hurdle on Friday after interviewing the girl and friends
Detectives said friends had deleted the image and without the photo, the investigation could not proceed.
