I see from the BBC website that the BNP have now got Jesus on their side. I wonder what other fictional characters will appear in their election adverts.
Whether you believe he was the Messiah who performed miracles or not, the man Jesus did exist. He was referred to by non believing Roman scholars. He was not a fictional character. Just as Robin Hood and King Arthur did exist, even though the stories about them may have been exaggerated over the centuries.

There's no evidence that Jesus existed either... but why let facts get in the way?
Actually, there is evidence that Jesus of Nazareth existed (whether you believe he was the Messiah or not) - but instead of a long thread here, you might google it zooloo.

When people say "Jesus, it's JK" they're not hailing you as the messiah

My googling reveals there is no evidence*.
Thanks for the advice
*Other than the probability there were ordinary people called Jesus who lived in Nazareth.

No, nothing like that outside the Bible and some spurious additions to Josephus's history.
I watched Religilous last night. Very funny movie.
One of the best bits was the visit to the Creation Theme Park/Museum. They've got some very nice plastic dinosaurs, and they depict T-Rex's living alongside homo-saphiens.
They reckon this was about 12,000 years ago.
The nutters even put a fucking SADDLE on a TRICERATOPS.
An ordinary guy called Jesus who came from Nazareth, who was the basis for a religious doctrine, even if that doctrine was created after the man died.
There is evidence of the leader Artos who King Arthur was based on. Also there was a very interesting BBC doumentary recently, examining the historical background to Robin Hood. There was a man from Loxley who had his lands stolen by Prince John. He became a rebel and later had his lands restored by King Richard. There was also a Little John.
