UK Media in denial about the recession 15 Years, 1 Month ago
www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601085...0&refer=news

Not being reported in the UK media. Yet this is the most serious figures about how bad the recession is in the UK.

It seems that Gordon Brown has made the BBC and SKY ignore what is really happening - they are talking about "green shoots" as the reality of the recession is getting worse and worse.

The reason you saw only foreign people on the streets of London today JK is that the rest of the population has not got enough money to go shopping !!

Brown is trying to persuade us ( up until after the next election ) that everything is going to be great. The reality is that whichever government gets in next year will have to slash public spending putting another million on the unemployment qs - in the hope that the private sector is pulling out of recession so that it does not hit 4 million unemployed by December 2010.

I think people are not actually aware of the severity of this crisis. They are being brainwashed by the press into ST JADENESS or whatever silly thing is going on in the media to HIDE the truth each day.

The whole financial system has collapsed and is only running on emergency lighting at the moment - and yet the G20 failed to agree any way forward "big words" apart.

Brown has been promising a recovery every day since this crisis started. One day he may well be right but until then it seems that it can only get worse.

We have had a house on the market since JULY last year and cut the price from 200K to 140K yet it has still now sold ( that is a real decrease of 30% in one year 0 ) and ALL the other house sellers in that area are slashing more off their asking price this month taking some of the houses down to around 90K ( 3 bedroomed ) yet they are still not selling at all.

What we are being FED by the MEDIA and the GOVERNMENT run banks and BSs is RUBBISH - it is ALL lies. The real situation is 1000000000 worse than they say.

Is it really? I think you're overstating matters. You're also ignoring the fact that banks are not particularly willing to dish out mortgages willy nilly as in previous years, which is having a major impact on the housing market.

The housing market is an internal market. It represents our spending power - not the actual countries spending power so in that sense you are right.

But the manufacturing figures are what really worries me - as well as the contraction of the High Street.
