When Americans say kids they sometimes mean 19 year olds. Still no excuse but it does put a slighty different slant on the story. I didn't see any reference to age. If they are "kids" in that American sense, i.e. late teens, then it's not child abuse, although it is still abuse.

It says 'children'.

John Yoo didn't quantify ages when he said it would be acceptable to torture children if "the president thought it necessary"

The children of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed were 10 & 13 and were put in tight containers with insects crawling over them. I just watched a Washington Times right-wing commentator on PBS TV say this isn't as bad as made out as the "insects were grubs-not ants".

In Abu Graib there were children as young as 11 although Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski says she saw one who was 8 and a 17 year old boy doused in water and made to stand in freezing weather to get his Iraqi Corporal father to talk. Boys at age 12-14 have been raped and it's been filmed and recorded-these are the tapes Seymour Hersh has seen and heard. George Bush has viewed these tapes..much like he had the tape of Saddam's execution filmed and rushed to him. ( It would be churlish to suggest this is similar to Hitler having the executions of those who atempted to assasinate him filmed and rushed to him for viewing)

In Guatanamo Bay there were about 50 children jailed at age 14..would certainly be older now 6 years later.

In Iraq US infantry captured wives, mothers and children of Iraq army officers and kept them hostage until the officers turned themselves in.

All this is quite apart from the thousands of children maimed or blown to smithereens by the Allies in Iraq and the hundreds of thousands displaced.

Having know about this since reading the book by ICKE I am not shocked at all by these revelations. In the USA and UK children are being abused by the leading classes.

It is interesting to note that DAMIAN GREEN's wife works in CHILD ABUSE/PROTECTION and the police tried to take her computer and she managed to stop them. The Police are involved in the cover up.

Lets hope we never go to war again like in 2003. A dark blot on our history.
