Hes getting better at public speaking. I remember him getting a heavy time from the party hacks when he shared a stage with the late ,great, Paul Foot at one of the SWPs Marxism events bout twenty years ago.Think he a regular at that event nowadays.Dont think hes there this year but Guardian journalist Gary Younge and Irish activist Bernadette McAliskey are among the featured speakers announced so far.

wow..Bernadette McAliskey would be interesting. I remember all those years ago when she was elected to Parliament..people carried on like the world was coming to an end.

I like Pilger's speechs although I've heard few..I think he makes every word count.

And I agree..the wonderful Paul Foot..a true humanitarian..a great fighter for the oppressed and wrongly convicted and a gentle and lovely soul.

We could use a dozen Paul Foots today.
