One brave lady 15 Years ago

Connie Culp is one brave lady. Her husband shot her face off,and she forgave him.

"I still love my husband," she said. "I forgave him the day he did it. I have to."

She's just had a face transplant, the suffering must have been so awful.

There are many rights and wrongs that we face each and every day.But to be able to move on from such horrors, and to have the heart to forgive, and so not bear the rage that would have destroyed many of us is indeed something very special.

It's at moments like this I really do wish I hadn't lost my christian faith. It would have served me so well in my current problems.

You don't need to be a Christian to forgive people IA; just human.

Although most humans don't seem able to forgive, JK. There's a lot of hatred and bitterness in the world.

There isn't a thing that the rebel Rabbi Jesus Christ said that I can disagree with.

The problem is that his followers and disciples turned him imto a religion/politcal movement.

If there isn't one thing that Jesus said which you disagree with, then why do you see the actions of his followers as a problem? - btw, I don't mean the fanatical groups who take everything to extreme and beyond, although I know there are some who hate Christianity in any shape or form, mainly because they don't understand it.

No doubt they'll point out (again) that there's no evidence that Jesus even existed, although I do not know why the existence of a man who claimed to be Christ should bother them so much, or why people who, of their own free will, choose to believe in him should suffer their resentment. There's no evidence for the existence of most people who lived over 2000 years ago, but obviously people did.

she's no more brave than these battered women and men who tale regular beatings from their partners and hang around for more and more as they "forgive" them each time.

I don't think she's brave. I think she's stupid

Ah Mike, there's a difference between forgiving and sticking around for more.
