I loved Star Trek and would find this show much more enjoyable without the egotistical Justin Lee Collins who seems to think he has to throw in a few swear words for shock (yawn) value. Was the same with his Christmas No1 show. I know it's all an act but he comes across as a total moron. Maybe the real reason William Shatner wouldn't meet him is because he'd checked him out by watching some of his shows. I wouldn't waste my time with the guy either.
Loved the show and JLC is endearing. I guess thats why he gets most of the (excluding the Shat) to appear. Ending was a bit of a let down. The best part is the awkwardness when they get together.
I put it off because of his language. There's enough of that in the real world and it's totally unnecessary on TV. It shows no consideration for the viewer, but that doesn't seem to matter these days.
Everyone has something that they like. Some watch soaps, some watch Sci-Fi, some watch sport, some drink beer, some read books, some paint, so play computer games, etc. etc. It always amuses me when those who don't share the same interest accuse others of needing to go out and find a life.
I don't know if I could bring myself to accept someone else as Kirk, or Spock, or Scotty, etc. I grew to love the original cast. I could have been ok with them doing a movie set when Pike was captain of the enterprise. I'm sure it'll be well made, and I might have a look if it comes on TV but I'll still struggle with it.
