Well done Jade in Eurovision 14 Years, 11 Months ago
Congratulations to Jade for coming 5th in Eurovision, which bucks the recent trend for the UK to finish in the bottom 3. This is the best performance since 2002. I think this is largely down to Jade's promotional tour of Europe allowing her to pick up lots of small points from many countries. The show was spectacular and the new voting system obviously made a big difference, as there was little evidence of block voting by Eastern European countries. Maybe next year we will write a proper song, rather than take one of Lloyd-Webbers rejects.

sadly still a little

Bosnia - Croatia 12 points
Croatia - Bosnia 12 points
FYROM - Bosnia 12 points
Serbia - Bosnia 12 points
Moldova - Romania 12 points
Romania - Moldova 12 points
Czech Republic - Armenia 12 points
Armenia - Russia 12 points
Turkey got the clean sweep from western Europe
Greece once again got the 12s from Albania, Bulgaria and Cyprus.

Interestingly a lot of the "guaranteed diaspora 12's" turned to 7 last night as I expected. Maybe this will discourage them to keep voting and the result will get more representative of taste rather than origin.

I would have rated our song about 5th from bottom. Sorry, Lord Webber, but I think you are capable of much better. We'll never know whether under the old voting system this song would have done any better than our previous entry. I have a feeling it wouldn't.

I stand corrected, I have to admit that I didn't notice any of the political voting many because it didn't affect the overall result (i.e. Norway winning and UK, and France also featuring in the top 10). All I seemed to notice was Norway seemingly getting 12 points of almost everyone.

I thought Jade was a little flat throughout, no?

Worse than that was the heinous ‘staging’ by Arlene Philips who is considered a complete joke in my business (show).

Why give her a pointless flight of stairs to descend and those violinists - did you see her get twatted by one of them?

It was a stand and sing number if ever there was one with his lordship at the piano for garnish - beauty and the beast.

Yes i was totally over the top but as all those gimmicks worked for Russia last year I assume they thought it might. The song needed no choreography and Baron Greenback on the piano certainly didn't win any votes, if that was the intention.

The German performance looked great with Dita Von-Teese and other dancing girls looking spectacular. However the song was weak and only managed 20th place.
