Murdoch's Sky News Backing Brown ! 14 Years, 11 Months ago
SKY NEWS gets more anti Tory every day. Today David Cameron totally slayed the PM at PM's Questions and demanded an election.

However, SKY news as usual has edited the discussion to make out the exchanges were fairly neutral and not mentioning the growing clamour for a General Election because of the EXPENSES SCANDAL.

It is time for an ELECTION because it is the only way the public can get involved and MPs are totally discredited on ALL sides.

Brown is afraid of elections and does not want one. If any Labour MPs have any substance they will start calling for an election as well.

Murdoch must be afraid of having his media empire challenged without his friends in New Labour.

I like the SKY NEWS format but like NEWS 24 it reverts to type during elections.

If things are really run by a powerful few what would be the point of voting in any election?

I got a computer generated email from The Sun asking me to sign their on-line petition for Gordon Brown to call an election.

My perception is that Murdoch is attempting to back both sides so he can go with any winner (and if you don't think Murdoch demands his editors follow his line you would be crackers)

I think it's a symptom of his falling power and his bluff has been called.

For 11 years he backed the horrendous John Howard in Australia and then his newspapers attempted to de-rail the current Labor PM Kevin Rudd's campaign with exposures of so-called scandals and editorials damning him.

Each time it backfired and Rudd became more popular and was swept into power.

Since then Murdoch's personal baby and favourite The Australian has consistently undermined Rudd with it's opinion writers and so-called political experts. Rudd's popularity remains at about 75%

Sales of the newspaper are plummetting..they give it away half the time.

Local state Labor governments did likewise and ignored News Ltd demands for preferential treatment and they got re-elected.

Barak Obama has refused to apear on Fox News and won't take questions from their reporters at press conferences. They are fuming ie: Rush Limburgh..but viewers numbers are plummeting.

There just aren't enough Alfies to save the Sun King's empire.
