Indeed, superb, succinct and to the point.

She points out something that has bothered me for so long now..how the so-called "quality media" now joins in with tabloid talk when reporting on crimes involving sex.

Her description of the dreadful murders in Iraq by a US soldier are spot on. I noticed that in the UK & Oz the same style of reporting was used whereas in the fairly nobbled US media, they at least concentrated on the main horror-the wholesale killing of the family.

A year ago I had a on email barney with Deborah Orr of the Guardian when she joined in with the tabloid rubbish about GG. She was most indignant when I said she was indulging in tabloid journalism. She perceived that to be the greatest insult and her conclusion was that "pedophiles would take comfort in my support". All reasoning out the window and emotion had taken over.

Likewise I've begun another with a popular and superb investigative Aust ABC TV show "4 Corners" that reported last week about an alleged pedophile who had been working amongst Indian orphanages.

My point to them..a show that has broken many major stories and exposed corruption..was that this time that had reduced themselves to a tawdry tabloid style show that helped no-one.

Firstly they had identified the alleged victims with on-camera interviews and names..a number of young Indian men and teenagers. This is forbidden under Oz law but they justified this by saying it wasn't in India. Yet apart from the consequences this may have for them in the future, the local mayor was highly sceptical about some of the claims that he considered could be money related.

They claim it may draw out other "victims". British police forces have now been warned against this "trawling" method as it has swept up numerous innocent people in the past in the UK, yet in Oz it is on the rampage use by police and now a usually respected TV show.

It can completely de-rail a prosecution as it draws in fantasists and those simply seeking compensation.

And secondly I questioned their continued use throughout the program of a self-appointed "expert" who I have serious reservations about. This 'expert' bangs on with similar headline grabbing claims yet there are a host of real experts out there within the psychiatric and health system who are never consulted and throw their hands up in despair when this person appears.

This 'expert' was discredited when she made a bizarre claim that "hundreds of pedophiles had flocked to Thailand, India and Sri Lanka" after the terrible 2005 Tsunami. Her only proof was a text message from a friend. Eventually police had to deny the claim.

The producer simply won't accept the criticism and is claiming the high moral ground that exposure at any price negates any other consideration.
