an amazing case in the USA where a man who imported some Japanese comic books has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography and faces 15 years in jail.

Apparently they are some of those weird comix that have drawings of kids or something and can be violent. They're called Manga and very big in Japan where they are legal (a country which actually has less crimes against children than the USA)

But this stuff is getting really really weird now. Even stranger is that people are pleading guilty to a complete non-crime or extremely dodgy one at that.

Even more bizarre : the story leads to a recent case in Oz where a man was sentenced to 2 years probation for having pics of the Bart & Lisa Simpson having sex !.

Reading the judges decision..it gets even weirder. He actually went through a long process of although accepting they weren't real children or even people..they "had the characteristics of children ".

This is strange stuff. I went to the launch of The Simpsons in London about 16 years ago. So that makes Bart & Lisa in their early 20's !

I mean I remember (because I have a vintage collection) Walt Disney declaring Mickey Mouse was 50 years old in the 70's !. That's a mouse that never ages in comics but is still said to be a middle-aged mouse according to his creator.

Of course no mouse could ever live to be 50 (or about 90 as Mickey is now) but then it's fantasy isn't It ?. It's a comic and it isn't real which is why he's a mouse that drives a car and lives in a house and , Thank God..seems to be a virgin !

Donald Duck with those "nephews" is a bit suspicious though !

This MANGA stuff is sold in all of the UK comic shops and in HMVs. Some places have massive sections of it.

There is also a satellite channel devoted to MANGA. Where childlike superheroes fight with evil forces. I thought it was a "Peter Pan" type of thing - they were not children but a small adult........

The way it is going the jails will be full of people who are labelled child sex offenders who have probably never even been in a room with someone under 16/18/13 let alone entertained any sexual thoughts about children.

This is intentional because it allows those who use their power and the system to escape justice.

The innocent are now the guilty under the NWO. If you dont agree with the NWO and their PC ideas then you are guilty. Just being a Christian or Muslim is enough to make you a suspect.

For all Gordon Brown's probably genuine desire to help people the leeches of the NWO are using his government to bring in their agenda./

Cartoons featuring children having sex are not exactly a nice thing.

Ok it's not real,but it's sick.However should it be an imprisonable offence probally not,just don't like the idea of this being available over here.

I cant see HMV selling stuff that shows children having sex - even if it is a cartoon.

Though today in the Times we see that 12 year olds are going to get Condom Credit Cards.

Maybe I am just too Mary Whitehouse.......

...well if they actively promote 'SAFE' sex to 12 yr olds, they can then get a view of those on the Sex Offenders Register.... job's a gud'en!

I believe some of these Manga comix do depict violent sex with kids and sound distasteful. But the case does reveal something of the justice system that's rapidly being used in "witch hunts".

The comix come from a different society that has a different thinking on sex ie: Japan.

Is there anything to be learned by this ?. Possibly.

As before- Japan has far greater less sex crimes against children than the USA and the Age Of Consent in Japan is 13. The numbers of young unwed girls having babies is probably a 1000 times less.

The USA is using 'pedo panic' & terrorism to impose restrictive laws that reek of the type of thing the Nazis did in the late 30's. The UK meekly follows.

Things like 'sex offender registers', 'Sarah's Law' 'Megan's Law' haven't done the slightest thing to save or protect a child.I doubt they ever will. They aren't based on scientific research.

They do however divert attention and probably precious resourses from genuine and real child protection.

As a lawyer at the ACLU says-"in the USA you could beat a 17 year old nearly to death and go to jail for 2/3 years but have a naked photo of them and go to jail for life"

They are emotive laws imposed because of the thinking of one person or a group-the readers of the NoTW in Sarah's Law. Or in the USA where Megan's Law was the result of the star of TV's 'Most Wanted' using his celebrity and death of his own child to have a new law invoked-which in turn has led to restrictive laws throughout US states where entire families are being to ripped apart when a member strays against a law.

They are the opposite to good law making-based on emotions not genuine research.

The idea that a group-or even the majority imposing it's will or driving government policy isn't governing, it's giving into the baying mob.

I can genuinely see a time where most of the world's and the UK's state art galleries will begin to 'censor' their art or put it in the basement (a bit like they once put a fig leaf on Michaelangelo's David or in Victorian times re-produced souvenir statues with a removable fig-leaf).

And maybe in the USA someone might just look up at the murals in Washington's Library of Congess and notice in the details there are depicted, naked children in erotic poses. Who would they charge then ?. The whole of Congess ?

Better just paint the whole place egg-shell white !

Do agree wholeheartedly about 'witch hunts',however it's still hard to ignore the fact that these comics are sick.
Japan is a society where the individual is left alone by the government to persue his own agenda much more than in the west.Still hardcore porn of all types is censored,and child porn I am told would be very illegal if published.I believe they allow 'naturist' type photos,but go to any naturist camp and you'd see the same thing.
The lack of sex crime and pregnancy is probally more cultural than to do with government laws.As is probally the case in a lot of societies.On my tours of the Kurdish regions I never heard of much sex outside marriage,let alone pregnancy etc.

Still right to point this out,and a disturbing growing trend for sure.

At what point is it fair to consider that the images are indeed abusive?
