early days, but it seems Nicolas Sárkozy's ruling centre right party in France is doing well, as is Angela Merckel, also centre right in Germany.

How interesting that ruling parties are doing well... unlikely to be the same here in the UK.

"Local" elections always favour those out of power and smaller Parties mainly due to low turn-out.

Unfortunately these elections don't really contribute anthing.

BNP have won a seat......Labour is slowly destroying democracy as they wished to in the UK. The Labour policies have been so divisive that our country is on the brink of falling apart politically.

But I have faith in the majority of the British people - at heart I think we are a decent country with people who want fair play. We may have had a rocky 10 years under crazy war mongering policies but as a people we can now put things right.

These elections do count.

The electorate has voted UKIP - a right wing party into second place and has voted for 2 BNP seats out of 60.

This is a HUGE story - the UK embracing the Far Right for the first time since the 1930s and the far right winning seats in a major election for the first time since EVER.

The EU Parliament is nearly as important as our own Parliament - it has the Euro Courts and sets monetary policy which effects our economy. One day it may be more important.

LABOUR is finished. I can see the fringe parties managing to keep many of these votes - though much of the UKIP vote will go to the TORIES.

If there was an election now the TORIES would get around 40% and Labour less than 20% leading to Labour being smaller than the Liberals. Though they did badly as well.

We are living in strange times.

Brown wont go - he is going to take the ship down. The labour vote gets lower each week. Will he manage to destroy the country in his last year in charge ?
