OBAMA : a big con man 14 Years, 11 Months ago
So the man for change has changed......nothing.

Worse than that he promised to take USA troops out of the middle east - and yet has put 30,000 MORE troops into that area so far.

I cant think of one change he has made that effects the world.

He seems to be like BLAIR - lurches from one photo opportunity to another.

Guantamano was already closing down when he came to power - so that was already happening.

He has even BLOCKED the photos of abuse from the Iraq war - something Bush did not do.

NO CHANGE - you can only judge someone politically by their actions - not their "words" - words are cheap.

OBAMA at the moment has done nothing to change anything. The only change in the White House is the colour of the skin of the incumbent. The policies seem to remain the same.

This is very worrying - because the plan to start war with IRAN and NORTH KOREA will be pursued by those behind the scenes in the USA.

Videos appearing on YOU TUBE etc even claim that OBAMA is about to make ORGANIC FARMING ILLEGAL in the USA !!
Even sowing ORGANIC SEEDS will be illegal. Totally unbelievable stuff. Supposedly this is because MONSANTO and the GENETICALLY MODIFIED industry paid for OBAMA's campaign and they want pay back !!! sound unreal and crazy.

So anyone else spot any "change" that OBAMA has brought - great PR campaign modelled on the BLAIR PR ideas.

well he has started to make overtures for dialogue in the Middle East, which is a big change from the Bush era and very necessary.

Actually, Obama promised to set a date for troops out of Iraq but he did say that he would re-inforce the troops in Afghanistan, so he has kept to his word on the middle east. I didn't read that anywhere. I listened to his speech myself and heard it first hand.

Don't believe everything you see on Youtube.

I watched loads of his campaign speeches and was impressed that he said that he would take the troops out immediately - he was criticised by McCAINs team for being naive about it.

Comparing Obama with Bush is not very good. Bush was probably the worst president in living memory.

Only his words say he wants dialogue. He has not actually had dialogue with the Middle East.

I can say what I want - but can I deliver ?

Sort of reminds me of Blair all over again - I hope not but the signs are not good.

So what has he actually CHANGED since becoming PRESIDENT apart from making nice speeches and giving awesome photo opportunities ?

If Obama hasn't had dialogue with the Middle East, who was he talking to during his recent tour of the Middle East? Plus, he has set a definate date for the withdrawal of forces from Iraq.

Guantanamo was closing down????
What do you base that on? I must have missed the report. I recall CNN reporting on how one of the first things Obama did was sign the order to close down Guantanamo, and how the former Bush officials (but mostly Chaney) said he was making a big mistake.

I'm sure it takes time to make significant changes to a country. I don't think Presidents have magic wands. Obama has only been in office a few months.

Give the guy a break. He's got 8 years of the Bush of administration to put right. I suppose you think they could have built Rome in a day?

Nothing ever happens in US politics. After all theyll be starting their election campaign in about a years time.A president has 18 months to do what he has to and then the campaigning starts and the president can do nothing cos he is out on the stump. By the way Obama is going grey rather quickly, is it natural or has he stopped using the "Just For Men"?

I agree with David-his speech on the ME is fairly revolutionary and standing up to Israel was a feat. It was also highly dangerous.

There is a problem-once you get to be president you are basically in the system and owe so many favours. Obama's biggest financiers were Wall Street who correctly perceived another Republican would be even more disastrous than the last.

If Obama can pull of universal health care in the USA it will be like performing a miracle. The greatest and wealthiest supporters of Bush were Health Care corporations followed by oil.

But he has an advantage...a crisis of such great magnitude it's when you can actually push through changes.

As they say-it's a crying shame to waste a crisis.

For Americans I believe he is a healing person-he's bringing together people as no-one else would have.

I'm prepared to give him time.He may make changes..but no-one is as disappointing as Blair !

When has Power released it’s hold?
When has Power granted such a Change ?
Generals may sometimes lead but politicians aren't known for leadership-
A politician is not inclined to scale-back anything but your pay.
Power hangs on for life.
'Economics' requires unsustainable growth.
No one can cut the USA's police/military spending,
not until events forcibly make that nation's money unavailable.
The USA has never built, then left it’s bases within a single generation.
‘Downsizing’ personnel is a long drawn-out intricate affair of tit-for-tat;

Likewise no one has 'given' liberation to any people or generation.
'The People' take a freedom, or make a freedom-
with the threat of power-change, which always has elements of violence-
or such freedom does not exist.

Please. Promises? Now you hold a designer-perfect package of illusions. When has Power released it’s hold? When has Power granted such Change?

Generals may sometimes lead but politicians are simply not known for progressive leadership. A politician is not inclined to scale-back anything but your pay. Power hangs on for life. 'Economics' requires unsustainable growth. Obama never addressed that- an element which defines humanity as a danger- &which has historically led to the collapse of civilizations.

No one person can cut the USA's police/military spending, not until events forcibly make this nation's money unavailable. But all tolerate the USA as world's mercenary. The USA has never built, then left a military base within a single generation. ‘Downsizing’ personnel is a long drawn-out intricate affair of internal tit-for-tat.

Likewise no one has 'given' anything like 'freedom' to any generation.
People take a freedom, or make a freedom-
with the threat of power-change, which always has elements of violence-
or such freedom does not exist.

The UN estimated that the cost of one year of the Iraq War could have solved hunger in Africa for all time.

There is something utterly obscene about the armanents business conducted by the US, UK and Russia with all usually selling to both sides in a war.

Still..I reckon if Obama gets health care in,as he promised it will be an achievement.

I wouldn't hold my breathe though.
