Has any one on here seen both the play and film of telstar,if so i wonder what people thought was better,the play or the film?

I thought the play was a bit deeper and darker and sitting in the theatre you felt a bit more 'there',although having said that i enjoyed the film as much if not more.

I didn't see the play but I did see the film last weekend and I loved it. I think Con O'Neil is an exceptional actor. I had seen him many years ago in the original cast of "Blood Brothers" and felt his range and ability to evolve so brilliantly inside a complex character was amazing. I felt that he came across more like a "stage actor" than a "film actor" and I think that is one of the things that made it a very powerful and unique performance. It was strange I saw this and "The Boat That Rocked" back to back and felt so much more satisfied with "Telstar".
