Conservative Media vs. Progressive Media
by Cenk Uygu
The
NY Post is run by Rupert Murdoch to further his conservative agenda. It loses $50 million a year. The
Washington Times is run by Rev. Sun Myung Moon to further his conservative agenda. By some estimates Rev. Moon has sunk $2 to $3 billion into it and it has never been profitable. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review is run by Richard Mellon Scaife to further his conservative agenda. It loses $20 to $30 million a year.

media pundits in Oz are still pondering what caused the outburst of
News Ltd boss John Hartigan who lashed out at bloggers despite trying to boost his own new (failing) blog Punch.
Hartigan castigated the internet as a home for losers and had scathing words for
crikey, com.au despite a young former News Ltd journalist-sacked by Hartigan, picking up over a $!M for 5 years work building up the site from nothing.
www.theyoungturks.com, a US liberal on-line comment site has now reached it's 100 million viewer after being launched on youtube.
Recently, 2 old friends of mine were rescued from poverty with the extraordinary revival of their Christian the Lion video on youtube. Both in their 60's have now made enough money to comfortably retire with sales of a book they first wrote 40 years ago.
Rupert Murdoch & a handful of like-minded nearly got control of the internet through Bush & Michael Powell who controlled the US Communications Commission. They seriously considered allowing corporations like News Ltd to set up "roadblocks' on the net. That's all out the window with Barak Obama.
Not said in the article above-Murdoch has invested billions of $$ in his Oz cable TV network and it's losing money every day and the UK Times loses 1 million pounds a week.
