ITV to repeat disgraced Bashir show? 14 Years, 10 Months ago
'Living With Michael Jackson' is apparently to be re-shown by ITV following the death of the superstar. It's my opinion that this show made a long term contribution to Michael Jackson's death and that it should be confined to the archives. I, for one, will not be watching it.

ITV have made repeated attempts, since Michael Jackson's death, to revive the smut and slander rtaher than show any level of genuine respect. I say shame on them. They may have a right to do it, but they are not right to do it.

Given the perilious state of ITV finances they may well be desperate to get viewers at any price.
I will also not be watchng it.

I saw it when it first came out, merely because I'm a Jackson fan and you rarely ever get to see Michael being interviewed or filmed privately. However I admit that this film showed him in a bad light and was edited for sensationalism and shock value.

Looking forward to it. It'll be interesting to watch from a different perspective. My views have changed from its original airing.

it's just been shown on Oz TV with lots of previously unseen footage and I agree..it's one of the most disgraceful programs I've ever seen.

Bashir is an absolute dirtbag.

Unusually..with the added footage you get an impression of Jackson being a far more human and normal person but throughout the show Bashir put's his own interpretaion on Jackson when it just isn't true,

Jackon gives a really credible and human view on the baby dangling incident yet Bashir keeps butting in with talk-overs that distort the episode.

Even a simple episode of Michael arriving back at his hotel in Berlin and greeting some fans , giving autographs and hugging them is portrayed as some sort of weird episode by Bashir.

I'm not so sure it shouldn't be shown as it's Bashir who comes out as the creep but maybe everyone doesn't get that...whoever controls the camera gets to write the history.

I never form opinions of someone based on what someone else has said about them. I judge by what I see and hear first hand. Michael Jackson's music speaks for itself. His charity work, much of it done without blazing publicity, shows him in a good light. The accusations against him didn't stand up to scrutiny, either in a court of law or in the media. Lots of people huff and puff, but none can provide evidence other than to keep repeating that he looked odd and didn't conform. In the UK we used to be proud of our eccentrics because to some extent they reflected the freedom this country allowed. Now we have to attack that which we don't understand, or which doesnt fit into a nicely labelled box. I think it's all very sad.

The Bashir documentary was discredited once the edited footage was made public showing, for example, how the children at Neverland were accompanied by parents when Bashir had claimed they came alone and unprotected. It was the worst form of gutter journalism. This is certainly not the right time to broadcast it, when so many people are in mourning for their family member, friend and hero. ITV could at least pretend to have some respect.

The showing in question is going to be edited from the original - though not clear in what way.

I read that it will be shown without the scenes that led to Jackson being charged.
