Madame Arcarti has just had a go at Uri Geller for the similar reason.
I've met him twice and I really like Uri. Mainly because he is such a hustler and doesn't really hide it.
The last time was in Sydney at the home of Lady Mary Fairfax..a top society dame who inherited a publishing empire who regularly allows her huge house and gardens to be used for charity bashes.
I arrived early with a pal who had just started writing for the then Oz edition of the National Enquirer.
There was no-one else there but Uri and his manager brother Skipi. Naturally I zipped over and we introduced ourselves and Uir grilled me on who the would be the richest and most important people there.
Hustling like crazy but he's very charismatic.
Later that night..and he was an unannounced guest..he got up and Lady Mary got her butler to bring the best silver. He bent spoons and forks like crazy and said people should be wary..they could expect old watches to start..new ones to stop and it really happened and to 2 friends at my table. One who had an old watch she had been carrying around in her handbag started ticking for the first time in years..another guy whose keys bent completely back which he discovered when he went to his car.
All very odd..mind you the weather was looking threatening
and for a marquee at the end of a sloping garden didn't look like fun. Uri commanded the storm clouds to disperse.
The rain bucketed down for an hour turning the whole night into a muddy mess.
