from prince to pauper in a day...poor Kyle Sandilands booted from Idol by the UK franchise owners had taken delivery of a new Rolls Royce Phantom 2 weeks ago-by taking out a mortgage on his $1.5M home-itself mortgaged to the hilt as he was convinced he was the rapidly rising star of the airwaves and soon to conquer the telly.
Surely people know it can all end in an instant-in these days of crass fickle celebrity and with his show-one of Murdoch's radio network's most popular for advertising-now crashing even further as American Express pulls it's multi-million dollar yearly campaign from the network.
Sandilands hurried replacement began his first day with a long tales about dear Kyle's charity work including the re-uniting of 2 Vietnamese cousins-one in Sydney and one they flew from the USA after they had fled the Pol Pot regime.
Another instant backfire as both girls told of the sordid blackmail tactics where one girl was told she had to pick from 3 doors to be re-united with her only family member alive-and picked the wrong door having been told she could then only view her relative through thick glass but never meet.
The poor girls were left in tears for 10 minutes as they begged to be re-united -their sobbings interspersed with some of those now departed Qantas & Amex adverts before being allowed to meet in the flesh.
Highly comical according to Sandilands and his replacement (hauled upstairs for a dressing down) but both girls are so traumatised they are still seeking counseling. It just goes from bad to worse.
Of course none of this would have happened if Murdoch didn't constantly insist on endlessly increasing sales or rising listening ratings at all costs.
The repercussions are still mounting-now with swipes being taken at the Federal Communication's Minister who has been rabbiting on for a year about(useless) internet filters to stop kiddie porn on the net-whilst all along a radio show for 3 years has been grilling young boys 7 girls about their masturbation habits and other far more crass vulgarities.
But of course no-one dared say boo to a Murdoch enterprise..just as News Corp nearly got away with their Alfie saga until it just became a little too unpalatable.
I'm still waiting former Page 3 girls to step forward !!..there's a small fortune to be had by suing..come on wake up ladies and consult Messers Sue Grabbit & Runn asap.
