I was once photographing the after-show party when Shirley Bassey had appeared at the Sydney Hilton. An Aussie politician of note-Senator Bronwyn Bishop, a dimunutive would-be Margaret Thatcher with piled up blonde hair was there.

Bishop is famous when as Defense Forces Minister she proclaimed " I'm the first female politician to go down on a submarine". I thought Shirley and Bronnie would be a good snap together-Shirley had posed with everyone I asked her to.

When I took Bronwyn over and asked for a picture Shirley turned, looked her up and down slowly then turned her back on her and continued talking to another guest.
