Shamed Police dig up the dead. 14 Years, 8 Months ago
www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2009/aug/12/murder-suspect-body-exhumed

The shamed police who kept Sean Hodgson in jail for 27 years because they failed to do their job back in 1979 have now had to dig up a corpse resting peacefully since 1988 to try to prove they can now catch their man.

Hoddgson, who is about to get a large chunk of our money was not the only one to admit to this murder.Six other people, including this poor chap who committed suicide also confessed.Needless to say the police were so convinced of their rightesness they refused to listen.

The family of the murdered victim do have a right to know, but what about the family having to witness their son being disturbed, purely because of police stupidity? What will all of this prove? It won't bring the girl back, and will just cause more hassle to other relatives of the accused.

In my view the coppers made a complete mess of this, and are now adding to the mess by creating even more misery, just to try to prove they can eventually get things right.

And isn't the most frightening thing... you have to go through it to believe it or even to care?

I'm sure, IA, none of this would have bothered you, as it never worried me, in the days before that knock on the door.

And this is the foundation our species is built upon.
It will crumble within years, mark my words.

1 in 10 adults have now been arrested. 300 kids are being arrested a day and being added to the DNA database.

The knock at the door is getting more likely for everyone by the minute. That is why you rightly see the press and public "turning" on the Police.

There have been thousands of protest people arrested this year - very few charged for instance.

We live in a Police State now. The Police were always lazy and pinned crimes on people to save them doing any work. But now they are looking to "control" the population. They want to "make up" offences and arrest people to add to their database. If you question them or their masters then you will be arrested ( but probably not charged because they dont want to go public )

I was even arrested ( and then de arrested ) for stealing my own car ( on my way home from work ) because there was a mistake on the Police Computer about my car reg no......ahem.....who are they trying to kid. I was surrounded by over 10 police - handcuffed and had a van and three cars as well. I was only driving home and was angry that someone had broken into my car and stolen my CDs etc.

This is a Police State. The Police monitor these posts - and I am sure we are all being watched. But we luckily are still free enough to speak out. Which we must. I wont give up being free until they lock me up for protesting and throw away the key !!!!

As soon as I pointed out to my local MP I was tired of being arrested as I went about my business ( any excuse but never any charge ) the arrests stopped. The POLICE dont like the spotlight on them - they think they can bully us into submission. They are typical cowards and use bully boy tactics of the school playground type. They ARE the criminals of our age.

Therefore we should all keep highlighting these cases and fighting for justice.

Finally - G20 - still no word from the CPS. How difficult is it to decide on whether to charge the Policeman with manslaughter. The Policeman should be give a chance to put his side at the very least. If he did nothing wrong then he has nothing to fear.

I agree with you BR but I've always been awaiting the 'knock on the door' as I've had it all my life. I just never open the door these days unless the face appearing in glorious colour in the security monitor is friendly.

I've spent my entire life having hassles with police and mostly for no other reason than being there.

Maybe it's because I had an uncle shot dead during a bank robbery or a mother who fled authority in Europe-who knows..perhaps it's in the genes. One would think that with my father being a respected banker I would have some sort of respect for authority but he just spent most of his life telling his kids how evil the financial system was. Deep inside was obviously buried a raging socialist who never got out.

But the idea that one could be accused of a crime which they are innocent of is mind boggling. I don't even know how people get through it.

I don't know how people get through the court system as it is-it's completely stacked against them whether innocent or guilty.

But I use MPs like you do now-I bend their ears like no other and it's amazing the results you can achieve if for no other reason than they want to get rid of a pest:woohoo:

In The Know

Re:Shamed Police dig up the dead. 14 Years, 8 Months ago
The Hodgson case raises interesting questions ... as the person who has been exhumed had "confessed" to the murder (while in custody on unrelated charges).

Do the police not have an obligation to at least investigate this matter - or do they just assume that as someone has been convicted (on a "confession" - police induced maybe? - which was later withdrawn) then the right person has been convicted ?

Regarding the DNA issue, the Home Office has just (Aug 9th) finished a consultation process on this issue (which I contributed too incidentally) and will now prepare suggestions for the government so that they can ammend UK law to comply with the recent European Court ruling which found that current detention of DNA practises unlawful. I'll await this one with great interest.

Hi;

There is a horrid plot for a novel here in which a body is exhumed, cloned and beaten up for a confession 30 years on.
