Over the past week we had a huge increase in the number of bees and butterflies in our garden. It could be linked to late blooming flowers, otherwise I have no idea why they've been absent for so long.
This has had me scratching my head too... we live out in the sticks and have a garden full of buddleias. On sunny mornings it's awash with the buggers. But only over the last couple or three weeks. No idea where they've been up until just recently. The Red Masons were abundant earlier {though they now seen to be pretty scarce}, now it's bumble bee time. Obviously these creatures haven't been told that the "staycation" is de rigeur this year...
