TOPIC: Esther Rantzen on JK
#48588
Esther Rantzen on JK 14 Years, 8 Months ago
just listening to the weekend digest of the usually excellent radio 4 programme Woman's Hour.

On it there was a feature about crb checks for people working in schools.

Esther Rantzen was one of those interviewed. Being her usual pontificating, populist self* she said words to the effect that "you wouldn't want the likes of Jonathan King in your school, would you?"

Quite frankly, Ms Rantzan, if I had kids I would far rather leave them in Mr King's company than yours.

now **** off please!

*any comments are purely my personal opinion

Perhaps I should go up and campaign for her when she stands for Parliament.
It might add a certain element to her chances.

The truth will emerge some day JK,and we could always amuse ourselves in the meantime.

Hope you enjoy the carnival tomorrow.

I think the Trade Descriptions Act should be applied to the subject matter. "Words to that effect?" Come on.

With the dumbed down and politically correct rubbish taking place in our New Labour Indoctrination Units ( used to be called schools ) it would be a breath of fresh air if someone like JK was allowed in to give a talk to the kids.

It is funny how they allow the ARMY and the POLICE into our schools - with their record of KILLING people and fraud and other things.....

So ESTHER RANTZEN - I would ask you - should KILLERS and representatives of KILLERS be allowed in our schools ?

As far as I know JK has never harmed another human being in his life. Therefore, our schools need more people like him and less of the authoritarian thugs who currently run our country.

I've had half a dozen e-mails about this; my friends are very protective but I'm worried by their listening habits!

One suggested I find God to repair my damaged reputation.

I answered that I prefer a damaged reputation to God.

Kids should have a whole range of people speak to them in schools..it would probably be far more useful than much of what they are taught.

Police and soldiers etc should go in and talk about how they arrest, stitch up people or plot the murder of dozens by bombing etc..what it's like to kill..how they feel about etc.

Those who have been through the courts for whatever reason..whether fraud, shoplifting so-called 'sex crimes" (which covers a variety of things these days) should be able to describe their full experiences in the courts.

As it is they get their messages from tabloid newspapers and TV..both experts in the art of lieing for profit.

Yes JK..go and support Rantzen -wear a campaign T/S and hand out leaflets..drive the batty old fool crazy.

The one person who should be banned from schools is Esther..who would inflict that on innocent children ?

Her actual words are "no parent would like someone like Jonathan King let loose on their children"... she does, of course, believe everything she reads in the media.

You can't be too harsh on Esther. I'm sure she means well. As far as she is concerned jk, you are a convicted sex offender and most parents wouldn't want their children looked after by a convicted sex offender.

What Esther and many others don't know is that the conviction was wrong (according to you). I can't say for sure whether it was wrong or not for sure as I wasn't there.

I just hope that the conviction gets overturned and justice is done.

I believe that Esther is a very good broadcaster and is naturally protective of children, like most women (often misguidingly). She can only give opinions on the information in front of her. Maybe if she read this website often she wouldn't come to such snap judgements.

I disagree..she's a self-appointed moraliser who goes for the populist angle. She's tabloid TV.

People like her are the most dangerous-they have 'credibility' in the public's eye and they propagate myths and untruths and fear. She does more harm then she's ever done good and lines her own pockets at the same time.

I know a hundred real life workers that help and assist children in third world countries and despair of the those like Rantzen that make their job that much harder.

As for this ridiculous 'sex offender' status..just cast your minds back to the Profumo era where everyone involved would have been labeled a 'sex offender' in modern times yet Profumo went onto do more charitable works than a dozen moralising Rantzens.

You need no more proof of the dangers of the so-called 'sex offender's register' than the current case in the USA where an 11 year old kidnapped girl has just been discovered after giving birth to 2 kids by her abductor. So much for children being protected from a registered sex offender.

Those who support this permanent punishment are no better than those who agreed with Jews, political opponents, gays etc wearing coloured stars in the Nazi era.
