Alice in The Independent... 14 Years, 8 Months ago
Clifford is quite right. Desperate for attention. Might even hire Max.

I do love people who assume any memoirs by a Vile Pervert are automatically not interesting.

Hello? Real world here.

Well, JK, you've referred to "the book" for a while now. So, when can we expect to see it in print, and will my local waterstone's be stocking it?

I'm hoping it will be ready for Christmas Dixie (surely it will be an essential gift from Santa in the stocking along with a tangerine?) and it will certainly be available at Amazon.com and all good bookshops.

Whether that will include Waterstones depends on their philosophy. If they would have stocked Oscar Wilde after his incarceration and if they sold Jeffrey Archer's books, yes.

What a hoot..at least Pandora could have given her/his source a credit-Madame Aracti
You have to admire the gall of Clifford with his statement :
"He's someone who has always craved attention"

Mx must be slipping..his alter ego in Oz Max Markson who claims Clifford as a friend and inspiration recently said he would love to handle the memoirs of convicted terrorist David Hicks, the Australian finally released from Guantanamo Bay but Hicks won't do a deal as he's afraid of the money being confiscated even though Markson reckons it would be a million dollar deal.

As for those who have been in jail writing books..so many have been successful including Michelle Corby the Aussie girl currently in a Bali jail for drug smuggling. She's made up to 500 grand with her book although it was released under her sister's name.

And I would have thought most people would be much more interested in the 56 years of my life before the dull Vile Pervert stuff kicked in, 2000.

I can't think of a single other person who has covered so much ground in the entertainment field as JK,especially over such a long span.

I'll be buying it,and no doubt it'll become an 'underground' best seller. No journalist can afford to ignore it,and many famous people will no doubt be worried about the truth coming out.Ordinary mortals like myself will just enjoy learning what went on behind the scenes.

well I love auto-biographies and biographies so put me down for one.

The highs and lows of anyone who has been in the public eye do make fascinating reading...but I can't get over Max's claim as though "seeking attention" is something odd.

He couldn't have survived if his clients hadn't sought attention and hello Max !..it's called show business..

maybe he's pissed off because he can't flog the memoirs of the accusers.

And Pandora's tone is similar..but JK..I reckon you are smart enough to expertly self publicise this book.
