United 93 - tonight on ITV 14 Years, 8 Months ago
I think arguably the best directed film I have ever seen.

I was in floods of tears in the cinema.

What amazed me about this whole story was the "phone" story.

Though the plane was under the control of terrorists - passengers were making phone calls.

First - if the plane was under the control of terrorists why did they let them use their phones.

Second - how do mobile phones work on planes in 2003 ? when supposedly the technology did not exist back then ( Just google it and find out )

The alternative story is probably the truth - the plane was hit by a missile which downed it. Hence debris was found up to 8 miles away ( See Wikipedia of Aftermath stuff ) and why it crashed on its side rather than falling directly down out of the sky.

But the idea that some passengers revolted is a great Hollywood American Hero story.

I am watching the new WAKING THE DEAD tv series tonight - it looks great in the trailers.

I just find 9.11 totally unbelievable - like Weapons of Mass Destruction. The two are linked and therefore seem to form part of a big lie to us as ordinary people by these cheating expense riddled Governments.

I feel lied to - and cheated. The Pentagon was not hit by a plane ( not one CCTV picture at all !!! )
WTC 7 was certainly a controlled demolition as well.

As for the Twin Towers ? who will ever know. The USA Air Force to allow two planes to fly hundreds of miles without intercepting them showed themselves to be the worst Air Force in the history of the World at defending their major city.

None of it adds up when you think about it. Hollywood rushed out the films to try and cement the official story - rumour has it that Government money paid for the films ( hence they are well funded and so good )

Great story. As my friends would have said at school.....Jackanory Jackanory..................

I saw a docu-drama on flight 93 a couple of years ago and one guy who phoned the authorities was asked "Are there any children on board?" Assuming this really happened, I wonder why they asked such a question. Were they suggesting that action would only be taken if children were on board? It baffled me. A few years before that I remember seeing an episode of LA Law where one of the lawyers was detained for using his cell phone on a plane, so they certainly seem to have featured before 2003. I owned one in 2003, although I'm certain their use was banned during flights.

We'll possibly never know the true story of flight 93. Of course that leaves the door open for various conspiracy theorists. What would we do without such people?

Thought it was a great movie even with its "imagined" ending. Paul Greengrass did an excellent commentary on the DVD that is well worth a listen. A lot of the people used in the Air Traffic Control centre sequences were not actors. They were there on the day and recreated their actions on the day. A stroke of genius by Greengrass who after his two brilliant "Bourne" movies (with another on the way, as yet untitled)is becoming one of Britains top Directors. He was also the co-author of "Spycatcher" which was given a rough ride by Thatcher in the 80s. Remember that one JK, bet you still got your copy somewhere on a shelf. I threw mine out a few weeks ago, i never read it either

Greengrass - did not know the name but love the Bourne films. Makes more sense why this film was so good now.

PS Waking the Dead was excellent - worth watching the I PLAYER before tonight's second episode.
