That said, there is no way that the social services should ever have the power to block someone from getting married, unless they can prove that someone has been coerced into it.

That is really awful. My title is true. If Social Services decide you may not have a high enough IQ ( Whatever that is ) and you are "known to them" then they will intervene and test you.

The telling part of this story is that the Groom to be said he did not even know she had learning difficulties for 2 months after meeting her. Bizarrely Social Services a ) let her live with this man and b) Let her get pregant by this man.

For me it seems at attack on the Christian Institution of Marriage. They are saying it is fine to live with someone or have sex and children with someone but to get married is a "no no" unless you allowed by Social Services. That is so crazy it is unbelievable.

I still dont believe this story - it must be made up - it cant happen in the UK in 2009 ? it is barbaric by any civilised standard.
