TOPIC: Is the tide turning?

Is the tide turning? 14 Years, 7 Months ago
Anger grows over 'paedophile checks' on parents who volunteer to help with children's activities

www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationn...rens-activities.html

This ludicrous law appears to be a step to far, even for the interfering Esther Rantzen, and her ilk.

I don't believe the "tide" is turning. What I do think, however, is that the tabloid-hungry public {who assume moral superiority as a God-given right} are now squealing as a result of feeling the tiniest fraction of a perception of the life long persecution which they advocate in the strongest terms for those who actually have comitted an offence.
Sure, this is a ludicrous and odious law.
However, it is the result of the hysteria in which they themselves have been oh so willing participants. This is what happens when you demonise people.

Agree ITK; tremendous, simple, accurate comment.

I should, I'm sure, be siezed with some kind of glow on receipt of such plaudits. Instead I have a sort of sinking feeling. No one has said I am wrong and why I am wrong. Probably because I wish I was wrong. This is the depressing reality.
I thank you both, however, very sincerely for your kind comments.
