Protesting Banned by New Labour 14 Years, 7 Months ago
If you want to run a protest it now seems that you need to purchase very expensive PLI ( Public Liability Insurance )

In the old days of free speech this type of insurance was only necessary for running a public event - usually a commercial event.

These days NEW LABOUR are using Public Liability Insurance as a weapon against any community events they dont like and against any protests they want to ban ( which is almost every single one )

What this means is this :

Legitimate protest by ordinary people about anything is now effectively banned by New Labour. "Organised" protest by "organisations" can still continue because many of these have PLI and can extend their policies for a small premium.

But most people do not have such a policy. That is why Village Fetes and fun days are being cancelled all over the UK. Why there are no political protests taking place on our streets - because unless a protest is " instant " the New Labour Authorities ban it unless it has PLI.

I have no idea what the cost would be - but I would have thought that it would be around £100 a licence for each 1000 attending ?
