after the interview is over and the cameras are still rolling..was it shown in the UK ?..amazing..if looks could kill Marr would be dead..Brown storms off knocking his microphone aside..very funny really.

Although I don't like Brown I reckon the medication question was out of order.

I'm with you Veritas; I watched it live and thought it was disgraceful but, after all, the media rools the world and the only thing that matters is... IS IT A GOOD STORY?

The rumours of antidepressants were circulating well before the interview, back when Brown took his vacation, and so Marr was in a no win situation. If he asked the question he'd be criticised for being too personal - even though Brown's policies insist that everyone claim invalidity must go through extremely invasive and deeply personal screening, but if Marr did not ask the question then he would have been accused of ducking the issue considering it was already in the public domain anyway with many people speculating about it. Much better to have this issue cleared up via a direct question than to allow gossip to swell out of control. I'm sure that even Brown would agree to that once he'd given it some thought.

Also, from what I understand, the questions were approved by Brown's office in advance. Maybe it's more the way that Marr worded the question, or something in his attitude, which Brown did not like.

But I have no sympathy for a man who orders all citizens must be spied on in every area of life, who rules that everone be assumed guilty as a matter of routine, who then gets upset because someone dared to ask him a straight forward question. Reminds me of the "Little Hitler" in control of the massive CCTV system in Middlesbrough who objected when he was confronted by a television crew because he felt they were being intrusive. When asked why they had such a huge CCTV system, at the time the largest in the UK, he feircely claimed that the people of Middlesbrough wanted it. Then when he was asked if he had actually asked them, considering that all those spoken to by the reporter did not want it, he stormed away from the interview. I have no sympathy for such people whatsoever.

JC is spot on.

Though I dont agree with this sort of prying - if BROWN wants to do that to all of us - then he should be prepared for the same to happen to him.

It has to work both ways.

Hopefully when the TORIES win the next election CAMERON wont need Anti Depressants so the question will never arise again.

memo to veritas..make that 1 G&T per night.

It wasn't the Marr interview but a Sky TV interview were Brown loses his cool. Sky..owned by of course R.Murdoch and the piece is being actively promoted in Oz(not that it would make a differencein th by Foxtel/Sky/News Ltd newspapers.

we do have 2 JCs here yes ?..both make very good points.

Just watched a German doco on the intrusive CCTV cameras in the UK..it is quite amazing the way every aspect is being watched.

But it isn't actually working is it ? Not making a difference to real crime..just reinforcing the Big Brother aspect.

Try as I might-I cannot see Cameron as a winner and I'm pretty good at these gut instincts. He just doesn't seem to have the PM aura in his destiny so I'm very confused. Yet Labour will loose..will it be a coalition government ?

That might explain it. I just scanned the board and wondered if I'd done my post twice. Only the first JC is from me.

Surely we have a right to know the health (or otherwise)of the person whose finger is on the button ?

I don't think he knows where the button is and, if he did, could see it.
