JK, there is NOTHING wrong in sounding like ITK !!! (Sane, logical, sound etc !!!!!)

It DOES look like another almighty police cock-up doesn't it?

The head of operations (on BBC website) says ...

<<< "We were left with no choice but to act upon that intelligence," he said.

"Public safety was our top priority." >>>

Then perhaps he can answer this ....

The situation was considered "so serious" (they hinted that the deaths could be in 3 figures) that an air exclusion zone was set up - yet the next door neighbours were not even evacuated !!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting?

(Never use the words 'intelligence' and 'police' in the same thread)

What were their options if they received information? Hindsight is always a better judge, and knowing that it was wrong gives it all a sour taste. But how long should they wait before taking action? They searched a house, disrupted a neighbourhood and traumatised the suspects. But it's not quite the Menezes case or the invasion of Iraq is it?

<<< It's not the Menenzes case >>>>

At least the man didn't die (this time).

If the brothers weren't anti-west, they almost certainly are now ! (Plus their treatment has probably recruited a few hundred others too).

The next door neighbours were family. They had interconnecting doors.

The people either side didn't ! 17 Years, 10 Months ago
Neither did any of the other residents in the street, or in the neighbouring streets come to that !

The police set up an air exclusion zone (banning over flying) indicating that the blast would be so big it could affect airplanes !

Yet they did absolutely nothing to protect the remaining residents !!!!

Police Apologize to UK Muslims 17 Years, 10 Months ago
British Muslims in Forest Gate say police have added insult to injury as they have not eased their "blockade" and kept on searching suspected passers-by under the Terrorism Act.

Now the heavy police presence has inflamed their anger.

"Maybe it was my stubble, or maybe it was my rucksack. I threw my bag down in front of them because that is all I could do to show my anger," Sikander Khalid, 28, told The Independent of his police encounter experience.

The Pakistani-born young man was running to get to work when he found himself surrounded by policemen, who stopped and frisked him.

Think what it would have been like had they got 90 day detention ! (They could have started campaigning for an "extension" to 180 days?)
