Super BORIS beat PAXMAN !! 14 Years, 7 Months ago
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1218478...ghts-attack-dog.html

Last night I believe we saw the end of PAXMA's career on the BBC. I reckon he will retire within the next 12 months.

He was savaged by BORIS about BBC earnings and his stupid questions.

Why the BBC keeps bringing up the BULLINGDON CLUB is beyond me - this has to be the most stupid line of questioning for a Political Leader in the history of TV programmes.

Soon we will be asking about what toilet paper they endorse.

The BBC has been shown up for the BIASED NEW LABOUR propaganda machine that it is - and the PUBLIC are cheering BORIS on - as was shown by his incredible election to MAYOR over very popular Ken Livingstone ( whom all Londoners including myself have much time for )

BORIS is "outing" the rich and useless. That is what the PUBLIC want on TV.

Now we need to let him loose on ANDREW MARR and EMILY MAITLESS. Two other self important hacks who think they know better than the rest of us.

Time for the BBC to clean out EVERYONE and start again with new faces and get rid of the old guard who are so in the pockets of New Labour and big business and so in love with their MILLION POUND SALARIES.

I would cut the TV Licence down to £100. Sack the lot of them - and close down the PC parts of the "Corporation" Get hungry new talent onto the airwaves on normal salaries of less than £50K each.

By doing this the BBC then becomes the public broadcaster that it always should have been. NEWS and POLITICAL coverage should never see such ridiculous salaries - it is public service broadcasting - not ENTERTAINMENT. I can understand them paying WOGAN or ROSS - because they are highly skilled entertainers who attract massive audiences......but News Presenters should be paid average wages.

The bbc is a great institution, it is the only place (other than channel 4) that you can get new serious documentaries and thought provoking dramas. They obviously want to attract the best people, therefore they have to pay top money. If you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

As for Boris Johnson, what good has he done since becoming mayor. He stopped the increased cc for 4 x 4 vehicles, thus tube travellers and effectively subsidising chelsea tractors to pollute the roads. Also he created the useless act of banning drinking on the tubes.
When did you ever see people drinking no tubes?? and also when is there anyone ever there to enforce this pointless law.

I agree that BBC Drama is excellent.

Paying PAXMAN £1 million a year to argue and BORIS £140,000 to run the World's most important City - goes to show what value we place on these jobs.

London has been a better place under BORIS - Crossrail is going ahead and I am happy that the "Free" festivals that KEN was organising everywhere have stopped - they were hitting the Music Industry very hard in those areas and unfairly.

I doubt if KEN could cut £5 billion off the London budget and deliver the same services - if BORIS pulls that one off then it is probably the biggest miracle in Public Service of all time.....

We cant judge BORIS until he has had his TERM in any case. At the moment I would say he is doing well.

I think you miss a vital point, BR. Paxman is there to be arrogant and controversial. He's like a British TV version of a Shock Jock. He isn't meant to be always right. Nor is he meant to be popular; but viewers will always tune in to watch him. In a sense he's a kind of pantomime vilain. We hate him but we love him too.

And maybe, by forcing Boris into such an argument, he helped, in his own way, to present the Conservatives as a more human, down to earth and vote-worthy party than many had previously thought. Mr Paxman isn't stupid.
