GORDON CLOWN was willing to pump trillions of OUR pounds into saving the banks ( for them to then survive and pay themselves massive wages )

YET he wont do anything to stop the ROYAL MAIL strike this week - which is threatening to destroy THOUSANDS of small businesses in the run up to Christmas.

I can see an extra HALF A MILLION losing their job because of this strike - shops - manufacturers - small home based businesses - farms - amazon and ebay based businesses.

Yet GORDON CLOWN is talking rubbish about climate change ( since when did he become an expert in that field as well ? ) rather than getting the ROYAL MAIL sat down and giving them a decent working package.

This country could fall apart in the next week if this strike goes ahead. Credit card statements - loans - payments - bills - will all get delayed. The knock on effect could be THREE BILLION pounds of delayed liquidity in the system - which will almost certainly knock out many struggling businesses.

The rich and senior public sector people are living like the recession is over - including MPs. When the reality is carnage out there on the High Streets.

Job cuts are still being announced every day and many businesses were banking on a reasonable Christmas to bail them out from an awful year.

January will see the biggest rise in Unemployment and company closures during this recession and it will probably push us into the double dip of a depression for the first time since the 1930s.

The Green Shoots are about to wither this week as the Royal Mail fiasco shows how little GORDON CLOWN understands about businesses ( both big and small) The man has single handedly destroyed the Country - and what makes it even worse is that in his own head he thinks he has saved the World.......

Don't forget, he could have easily have saved Woolworths too but didn't.

Not likely to be looking for a job in the postal or retail sectors next year though, is he? He's looking after the most important thing of all. Himself. What's the betting that this time next year he's on the board of some bank or other? And they call me cynical...

I think you are probably right Locked Out. I think he was getting a "job" ready for himself after he gets voted out next year.....

Problem for the rest of us - we will be paying for his bail out for 20 years or so.

The Royal Mail is being trimmed down - to be sold off.

Interesting that NuLabour are planning to do exactly what Maggie did to the miners and smash their union.

Others will follow. In the North binmen have been to strike (Leeds) for five weeks and the Council (with Gov backing) have been told NOT to back down. Plans to sell-off the service are well in hand.

Firemen in South Yorkshire have also just had the first one day strike (of several planned).

Even the police will face cuts - the four Chief Constables in Yorkshire all met yesterday to plan how to pool resources so they can cope with the expected 5-20million cuts which South Yorkshire CC said he was expecting.

THE COST OF NU-LABOUR IS ABOUT TO BE PAID FOR - BUT THE BROWN-NOSER WILL NOT ADMIT THIS (UNLIKE THE lIBdEMS AND tORIES) UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTION !

It really hurts that as ordinary people are losing their jobs - the bankers are about to pay themselves record bonuses......

There was no point in him saving Woolworths, the company had been struggling for years, and the recession was the final straw. The business model doesn't work in the 21st century. Millions aren't going to lose money if woolworths goes bust.
