So say the Telegraph; I shall certainly "give consideration" to every party before I vote; indeed I find it rather frightening that 80% is prepared to vote without consideration.

Has the world gone mad? Or does the meejah rightly suspect that 100% of us are so lazy or so stupid as not to spot a story behind clever wording?

I still anticipate spoiling my ballot unless a politician emerges who I consider worth wasting my vote on.

Democracy doesn't work. Neither should it if 80% say they will vote without consideration.

As you say, it's wording. Without consideration maybe means they've already decided and so don't feel the need to consider, which doesn't mean they won't actually read through and consider some of the other blurb that comes through their door at election time. And how many people do they ask in order to come up with this percentage?

As for people saying they'll consider the BNP. That could just be an immediate backlash from Griffin's treatment on Question Time, and of course being willing to consider a party doesn't mean they'll vote for them come the election. Making someone a powerless MEP is quite different to putting them into the government office.

The high figure doesn't surprise me. We have become a stupid nation. That fully 20% of us have Nazi sympathies is certainly to be regretted. But it shouldn't be understood. I'm a long way off being the sharpest tool in the shed. However I know that fascism is evil. I wouldn't "consider" voting for the BNP. I'll leave that "consideration" for those among us who seek to legitimise their own hatred of anyone different. Some things are black and white. This is one of them. Vote BNP and you are voting for a fascist party. It's that simple. And if you don't understand that you are, put simply, a moron.

some say it's undemocratic but I reckon compulsorary voting is the most democratic thing.

I guess it could mean they don't know enough about the BNP, and want to find out for themselves before they make a decision. I can't see myself ever voting BNP, but I think people who want to make up their own minds should be respected.
