Nearly 30% of school staff have been the subject of a false allegation

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/8325170.stm

Think this quote sums it up quite neatly.

"We are losing good teachers, heads and support staff to the detriment of children's education.

We all accept the protection of children is paramount, but that should not be at the expense of natural justice - school staff have rights too."

We have become a nation of false accusers...or in JK's and my cases falsely accused.

The real crux here is that the guilty false accusers stand little to zero chance of being punished when their lies are found out.If they had to face the consequences of their actions then this evil culture would wither on the branch of the poisoned tree it grew out of.

Even when proved innocent the person still has it on their records, viewable for any future employer or organization to view, like a vivid stain on your innocent character.

Just like the McCarthy witch hunts, but the tabloids are fueling it to run far after its original purpose had long been forgotten.

I apologise for not replying on this, the original thread. For some reason BR has posted his own, almost 2 hours after you'd brought this to the forum. I address this point with my thoughts there. Sorry, looks like you've been hijacked, which is a pity. Your posting adds your thoughts without the "BR spin".

Hi Innocent Accused - I had already posted about this below ( 1 in 4 ATL ) and totally agree with what you say.

This is really shocking news for the General Public - but not news for anyone working in a school or with Young People.

For someone starting teaching in 2009 you are probably 90% likely to get accused - older teachers are less accused ( those over 50 ) Than those in their 20s to 40s .

Kids now KNOW that they dont need any evidence - they watch Eastenders or a TV show - and just repeat the story putting themselves in the first person. It sounds "believeable" because the script was written by a top writer. After every series ( The Bill - Eastenders etc ) that deals with abuse the number of allegations goes up - it was the same when Grange Hill tackled a serious subject in the 80s - kids copy. They are hard-wired to copy and learn behaviour from the TV.

Mary Whitehouse had many very seriously good points about all of this - which have been ignored by the Hard Left hedonistic liberals who grew up in the 1960s. False allegations will increase to at least 2 or even 3 in 4 over the next 5 years unless there are some new guidelines brought in by schools and police.

I would like to see no more allegations without evidence. In these days of mobile phones and cameras - there is absolutely no way a teacher could abuse or hurt a child without it being captured on a phone. Therefore, I cant see any reason for any unsubstantiated allegations to be made. These should be ruled out immediately and kids should be told that without any hard evidence they cant be listened to.

In terms of manhandling pupils - surely if no injuries are done then the benefit of the doubt should be with the teacher. Without any other supporting evidence ( a video ) then it should not even reach court.

Finally - look at the way THE POLICE investigate their OWN. With regards to the TOMLINSON MURDER - we see the POLICEMAN clearly assaulting TOMLINSON violently causing him to collapse onto the floor. We also know the POLICE then covered this up and pretended it did not happen until an American tourist produced video to show what happened. Despite having VIDEO evidence no charges have been brought against this POLICEMAN - even though there are many witnesses as well.

Isnt it strange that an allegation against a normal person may end up in court or with a suspension - yet when it is a proveable fact against a POLICEMAN they seem unable to charge - and will probably say there is not enough evidence.

There are literally HUNDREDS of people being put in court today with NO EVIDENCE against them at all - just hearsay and allegation but no hard evidence. WHY ? This should not be allowed to happen.

THE CPS should not put anyone on trial without PRIMARY evidence. A video would count - an eye witness would count if they were neutral - a DNA match for rape would count - the items being in someones possession for robbery and so on. It is not rocket science for the POLICE to actually do some real POLICE DETECTIVE WORK like they do on the TV and catch some criminals. They did it before TECHNOLOGY - yet now they seem not to bother and put people in court on the basis of trying to undermine their character rather than any evidence.

I would say again to anyone wanting to be a TEACHER - dont do it. You think it wont happen to you.....sad to say if one day you tell off one of the kids in your class who happens to have seen a programme about these sorts of things and he/she feels wronged by you then they may well try to even things up in this way. It is the "Tony Blair and George Bush" doctrine of revenge. " you did 9.11 and 7.7 so it gives us the right to kill millions of you ".

Our government has set the tone for this. I know JK probably does not believe this - but it is absolutely true and the rot has spread from education to defence to expenses etc. A fish rots from the head - Blair - Bush and Brown have destroyed the UK and USA ( and probably Australia 0
)

The AXIS OF REAL EVIL in the World is USA - UK - Australia with the genuine evil people like MURDOCH leaching off the ordinary people in tow with the RICH BANKERS who have now taken all the tax money for the next 10 years from the POOR.

and to prove my post is not spin - I here post from the ATL survey the words of many ANON teachers and their experiences. Read this and weep. The kids are using the "system" to wreak revenge on TEACHERS who tell them off. The POLICE are acting like BRAIN DEAD ROBOTS who dont like teachers ( remember most POLICE are school failures - no qualifications - the bottom 20% of kids )
-------------------------------------------------------
Anonymous cases reported to ATL:

Secondary teacher: "Two work colleagues have been recently suspended; one was dismissed despite a police investigation proving innocence."

Primary teacher in Wales: "The police were notified, but no action was taken as the child who assaulted me was under the required age. Following this, the child's parent accused me of hitting her child. I have not returned to work in a school since. I had post traumatic stress and a period of long-term sick."

Primary teacher: "The parent subsequently withdrew the accusation, and the child continued in my class where I established an at least reasonable relationship with the parent concerned."

Secondary teacher: "An anonymous handwritten fax was received by social services and passed to police who informed the school. I was informed 12 hours before a 'surprise' interview by the police by the head as he believed the accusations to be false. Police arrived on my doorstep at 07.45. I was allowed to read the fax but not keep a copy. The handwriting was identifiable and suggested one ex-pupil was potentially responsible for writing it. The police did not follow-up this malicious act despite my request for them to take action, nor would they state the case was closed. I became depressed and sorely tempted to leave the profession."

Secondary head of department in Wales: "Investigations were going on without my knowledge, and only my head teacher's intervention prevented the police turning up at my house to interview me at the weekend. Although the allegation was bogus and made in spite for reprimanding a pupil for being late, a record of the allegation would be made and kept on my personnel file."

Primary teacher: "This is a devastating thing to happen, even when all allegations are found to be totally untrue, it stays on your record and can prejudice any future case. It's terrifying, shocking and very upsetting. It's taken me nearly two years to begin to get over it, and even now I get depressed, and think about giving up work."

Primary teacher: "The allegations were of a very explicit sexual nature and because they were so far-fetched, they were not believed. Eventually the child admitted making them up as a way to exude power over his peers. Thankfully the school was 100% supportive, but I dread to think of what could have happened if the head had been less supportive or the allegations more realistic."

Secondary teacher: "A secondary school teacher on a temporary one-year contract suffered a false allegation by a pupil. Even though the complaint was unfounded, he found it impossible to get another teaching job as the complaint remained on his personnel file. He completely lost his confidence about going back into the classroom, and ultimately he had to leave the teaching profession for ever, as he no longer could earn a living doing the job he had once loved."

Secondary teacher: "It is now a trend at my current school that if you reprimand a student, they try and get you into trouble. A student even reported a teacher for inappropriate physical contact (untrue) just so they could move classes. It is getting out of hand because we are powerless against it."

Better posted twice that not at all.

The important thing here is we are discussing the very important facts involved. Our spin on them here is more from the 'false allegation' side of things, rather than the equally important effect on the teaching profession.
We are one of the few places willing to stand up to a biased and crazed media, who distort facts to create their own self important cloud cuckoo lands.

I believe the two things are linked Innocent Accused.

They are starting with the "Obvious" professions like Teaching - but it spreads like a virus through all jobs.

This new "licence" that everyone needs to get if they even do voluntary work with kids or talk to kids more than twice a month - shows that when the CRB check was brought in it was for only those who had full time contact with kids. They then spread it to ancillary and office staff and now they spread it to parents and helpers....and they plan to spread it to anyone who "Might" talk to a child.

There are 31,000 registered sex offenders - of which probably around 10,000 are on there for either child abuse or kiddie porn. This is a miniscule number of people. Many of whom have been "fitted up" in any case.

The other 70 million of us are not on this register and will breeze through any checking system like this because it only catches those who have been caught before......the "serial abuser". In addition it does not catch a ) Family Abuse or b ) organised elite abuse which probably occurs on a bigger scale.

Therefore as a system it is totally flawed - expensive waste of money and will not protect any children any more than the CRB checks that originally came in - even they replaced the List 99 check which teachers went through in any case.

Our society is now based on FEAR of what "Might" happen - we drown in Health and Safety rules and silly licenses to prove we are not a paedo or terrorist.

How does a piece of paper judge whether someone will commit a crime or not ? It is all a massive scam and brainwashed UK public are crazy to put up with such silly ideas.

In schools this whole system is being abused by those who it was designed to protect. DECENT teachers are leaving because they dont want a false accusation ruining their families lives.

If a good teacher tells a pupil off these days in some schools they may then get a revenge allegation - this will cost the teacher their job - and ruin their families lives - may lead to their kids being victimised and ostracised as well. It is not worth it - that is why people going in to teaching should stop until the rules are changed to provide them with some protection. It is like Russian Roulette. Some schools have 50% of staff been accused......especially when the kids are feral in the first place and have learnt this behaviour from the soaps.
