It would be interesting to know the real story here-in Australia many McDonalds have begun to close down. Not sure if it's education about better food or whether just too many franchises were sold.

When I was training manager in a company far away from here, the worst companies I had to deal with were MacDonald's and Coca-Cola- their sheer arrogance in thinking that suppliers had to bend to their every whim was shocking.
I once had a small training contract somewhere far from here with Pepsi Cola, not much business but it ticked along nicely.
I then pitched for a major contract with Coca Cola- in the negotiations they treated me like I was sh*t, before realising that my trainers were highly qualified and just what they needed. They acknowledged this, before offering me the contract on condition that I dumped Pepsi.
Imagine the look on their power-crazed faces when I refused and said I could not let Pepsi down as an existing client.
