10%+ rise in fuel prices since January 2009 14 Years, 6 Months ago
In January petrol was down as little as 96p per litre and diesel just above.

Today the AA have announced the highest price of the year at over 1.08 on average with many stations above 1.10 outside the supermarkets.

The recession is being fuelled ( pardon the pun ) with this massive tax on all business.

Jongleurs Comedy Clubs chain collapsed last week in debt - and most of their outlets have been closed. Comedy clubs need people to travel to see their shows.

Gig venues are all teetering on the edge - and unless they are a diversified venue they may be in trouble by early next year.

Numbers of away fans at football matches are drying up - with some League 2 away followings being less than 100 fans. This is forcing some isolated clubs attendances back down to near 1980s levels.

Two League clubs are facing closure : Southend went into possible admin yesterday - Accy Stanley have a winding up order to be heard today in the High Court.

Car sales are down by 17% on last year in September despite scrappage because the fuel costs are now too high for people to use cars. This is good for short journeys which can be done by public transport of course and seems to be the aim. The problem for businesses is that it stops them being profitable if they have any element of delivery or transport.

While BROWN tinkers with his banking chums - to make them profitable the rest of the economy is going down the pan........

A 10p cut in duty per litre would be a great help for all businesses and would kick start the economy. Why cant he do something like this which is for EVERYONE rather than just help the rich.
