Of course this is a serious matter,but given the ages of those involved wouldn't it have been better to let social workers deal with it? Also should this be a matter for tabloid sensationalism?
Kids do experiment with sex at their ages,99.9% is treated for what it is,a biological urge of an young en-quiring mind.
Police and court interference will do nothing more than turn inquisitive kids into criminals,while traumatizing a young girl who would do better to be helped to forget this,not have to relieve it in court.

I suspect the girl will be more abused by the system now than the original ordeal.

No my friend, the rape of an 8 year old is not natural curiosity, most children of a sane mind no such attacks are a violation and abusive. Even at 10 you know the difference between right and wrong.

I think the teaching of sex education to such young children doesn't help matters and encourages the sick minded children to be more curious and thus lead to such terrible attacks.

The word 'rape' is an emotional term that could mean anything..from full-on assault to touching up.

I'm not so sure 10 year olds do have the capacity to know the difference from "right" and "wrong" or can be expected to think through the consequences of their actions.

We adults are pretty unforgiving of children...I don't recall at the age of 10 of ever thinking about the law and such..of contemplating the result of actions.

I also recall sex based games that were curiosity and when I recall what actually happened..anyone of us involved could have been accused of 'rape' even when no actual 'thrill' was being had.

Being old is such a privilege now.

Actually to prove your case my false accuser was involved in a previous sexual assault allegation when she was a similar age to this girl.
The facts of her case were digital penetration,and in the social services notes the headmaster had witnessed her flashing her knickers at the same boys in assembly.Also she was witnessed dragging the same boys into the girl's toilet on a separate occasion.
The law blames the person doing the insertion,not the person who has encouraged it.We don't know what really happened,but we do know the law will automatically class the girl as victim,and the boys as the perpetrators,regardless of the real facts.
