Over 1000 stores - many of which will be shut down and more thousands out of work just before Christmas.
Though we are not seeing as many stores close as this time last year - some big chains are still going under.......
If this is the recovery then we are in for 10 years of gloom.
House prices going up does not help anyone - because it means it will be harder for people to get loans again meaning less houses selling and less work for the stores that sell household goods etc.
Fuel going up massively this month will hit again day trippers and people who will see a further £1 or £2 on every journey - with many thinking again before going out to a venue - sporting event etc.
There is no leadership in the REAL economy from Brown - he only knows how to fiddle with banks and bankers.
The VAT cut will be reversed in January and scrappage will be run out by then....the first 3 months of next year could see massive closures in the UK and an even deeper recession for everyone.
But dont worry - the bankers are all getting their £500K bonuses this Christmas - so if you are in the luxury end of things then you are doing well.
