The current drugs fiasco illustrates the fact that the media rules socially and politically; we all know democracy is a disaster but if that's the way we are going to go, let's bring back witch dipping I say!

We could have full scale trials by TV. Drawn out X-Factor style shows presenting the evidence to Joe Public who then has the opportunity to phone in and cast a verdict vote. All money (along with an invite to the next reality show) going to the victim of the alleged crime. A panel of four celebrities can decide on the penalty for those found guilty.

First round could involve the panel using buzzers to decide the plausibility of witnesses. The convincing ones, or those who cry sufficiently, will go through to the next round .. etc ...etc ...

Great fun for all the family.

I think both are fantastic ideas.

Would be very politically correct - allowing the public a chance to determine justice policy and allowing victims to tell their story.

It is probably only a matter of time before this happens.

There are great similarities between the USA/UK Empires and the ROMAN EMPIRE. Both started off as great plans to help people - and in the case of the ROMAN EMPIRE they descended into feeding criminals to lions as the TV public spectacle of the day. Criminals back then included Christians ( e.g people who threatened the belief/authority system of the EMPIRE )

Therefore, we would see "BURN AN ISLAMIC" where TV could decide which "extremist muslims" could be burnt at the stake by public vote. Anyone who was a Christian and Homophobic in any way could be in " Feed the Lions " and so on.

This would be very NEW LABOUR. Jacqui Smith could be series expert - and she could be on the panel of judges along with the other PC darlings - including Adrian Chiles. Can you imagine the fun they would have with CAROL THATCHER for instance !!! and NICK GRIFFIN. Both would be fed to the LIONS quite quickly.

Would be excellent for ratings as well. The first series would be watched by over 40 million - especially the finale parts.

You see we claim to be civilised - yet our media is taking us down a road where our civilisation is near its end. We are less than 50 years away from the end of Western style capitalism - maybe a couple of years - it is already showing signs of collapse under its corruption and lack of any values. Gordon Brown's moral compass is basically pointing in the opposite direction because it is broken - poor man. So he has the reverse effect on society that he "imagines" he is having - funny that !!

The idea is covered in the movie "Citizen Verdict" starring Jerry Springer. Not the best movie ever made but worth a look if you find it for a quid in a charity shop.

Why not go the full hog,bring back the inquisition?

Hopefully enough people have been touched by this stupidity to reign in the excess,just like McCarthy in the 50s.
We do need to apprehend real molesters,but do we need prisons full of the innocent so that the few guilty ones can be caught?
Have we really reached the stage where people can be jailed for looking at pictures of 'provocative' kids,fully clothed I might add?

It's purely a distraction,so we forget the mess the government has put us in as a country.And you won't get out of that mess by hysteria.
