Rymans sell a rather nifty wind-up torch; only £3 and it works by flexing your hand a couple of dozen times; no batteries and no bulbs needed.

Quite useful in power cuts. BR - buy one immediately!

For when the time comes, when the balloon goes up,and there is a Vogon Constructor Fleet parked just behind the Moon. I believe these torches are also available in Charity Shops in cutie animal shapes.

Firstly, I'm glad to be back on the board after an extended break due to a certain company messing up an order for a phoneline in my new flat. But hey, I'm back!

As for the wind up torch, I was given one last Christmas, but made the mistake of turning it the wrong way when winding it up within a few days.

This effectively broke it. The only way it works now is if I turn the wind up handle the RIGHT way with the torch turned ON. It'll give me a bright light for as long as I'm turning it, but no more.
Just something to be aware of!

Probably made in China. Check your post re pollution. Double standards?
