Oh God what a nightmare! 14 Years, 6 Months ago  
Power cut from 1-4 today (they said it could be until 6)... everything off except my security system (back up)... and, of course, just as I made myself a cup of tea on the portable emergency gas stove, the power comes back on!

A reminder of the late 70s when we used to have regular lengthy power cuts - but we also had coal strikes and no central heating, so we burned old shoes, etc.
