Glasgow North East : 27.4% on benefits 14 Years, 6 Months ago
Interesting statistic that GLASGOW NORTH EAST is the 7th highest ranking area for benefits in the UK.

27.4% are on benefits there.....

The Labour vote was 12,000 in a constituency of around 60,000 people.

Seems that New Labour got a good return for their Benefit money last night.

It seems that many people are deeply disturbed by a return to "Buying Votes" with the money of other taxpapers by New Labour.

No wonder people "earn" more on Benefit. 1.2 million in the UK now get more than 15,000 pounds a year and some get more than 20,000. Equivalent to a £27,000 wage....

I believe the min wage should be increased to £8 per hour or even £10 per hour. The taxes for those who earn less than £20,000 should be 15p in the pound and those in the £50,000+ should go up from 40p to 45p in the pound. Those in the 100,000+ should be 50p in the pound.

No one needs more than £50,000 a year to live.

My father was a successful merchant banker but his background was lower middle class and he remained a socialist (?) all his life.

He drummed into me from an early age and agreed with Bertrand Russell..one day we will have to pay people not to work. Having a job will be a privilege and the majority of people will get a living wage to exist and have fun.

We have to get over our religious induced puritan work ethic first where life revolves around being employed.

The North is just an example of what's to come...but it's all being handled the wrong way.
