TOPIC: BR's conspiracies spread

BR's conspiracies spread 14 Years, 5 Months ago
A disturbing tale about the discredited Aust. Federal Police who already have form over the blatant attempts to lie and falsely jail the innocent Dr Haneef after the Glasgow airport bombings.

A story of how they withheld crucial documents that would have freed an innocent man on child sex tourism charges in New Guinea. These bozos (all the state police departments hate them)are always trying to get more powers and arrest people in the hope of making charges stick.

www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,26349818-421,00.html

I got stuck in a seat on a crowded plane back from London about 6 years ago, next to a woman who boarded in Bangkok. She got hideously drunk and kept yakking to me and I finally worked out who she was..a well known self appointed 'pedo' hunter. She launched into a series of defamations about well known politicians, priests, charity workers etc and how they were pedos in her mind and she was out to get them.

Later journo friends told me they regarded her as extremely dangerous and a secret agent for the AFP who spread lies about prominent people at every opportunity. To my disgust I see this year she got another $1M govt grant to "help save abused children".

Not a single penny goes toward a child anywhere-it finances her in world trips and 5 star hotels.

The 'pedo behind every bush' scenario is highly profitable.

Most probably an isolated incident. Not a true representation of what in the main is for the greater good.

as I said-the AFP (an Oz version of the FBI with federal powers) are intensly disliked by most state police forces who regard them as 'cowboys'.

I would hope it's an isolated incident. With the election of Kevin Rudd we had high hopes the AFP would be reformed especially with the new Attorney General, a brilliant rights campaigning lawyer, but he seems to have been a bit slow. Although the AFP boss announced quietly he would retire in 6 months (probably pushed).

What they did to Dr Haneef was an absolute outrage and damaged relations with India badly. Even worse...officers and the prosecutor lied to the court but got away scot free..an ordinary citizen would be in jail now for the same.

To their credit-Murdoch journalists exposed the Haneef debacle which shows why we do need a powerful but honest media.

In the past the AFP have been inviolved with with-holding information about a German born citizen who was wrongfully detained for a year as an "illegal" immigrant and a Phillipine born citizen who was deported wrongfully.

All these cases have cost tens of millions$$ in compensation while the offending officers just get a pay rise. As in the US & UK..their increased powers and unaccountability stems from the "war on terra ".

can't disagree though with your statement that real offendors shouldn't be pursued..

Current police policy around the "free" world seems to be that if a possible offender is hiding in a crowd they just machine gun the crowd. Any innocent people destroyed during the elimination of a suspected criminal are mere collateral damage. They suffered for the "greater good".
