I agree with you about Keane's reaction to the mobile phone. I hate it when people allow their phone to ring in a public place and speak loudly on the phone on trains and restaurants, it is so rude.

However I think Keane is very bitter about the Irish Football Association after he was sent home from the 2002 world cup and his objection to Mick MacCarthy as manager.
He criticises the irish defence, he should take a look at his own team, Ipswich who are languishing second from bottom of the championship.

I watched his press conference in full.

I have to say that he comes across as very unpleasant and bitter.

It's no surprise that he can't get a group of players to play for him.

Miserable git!

I hope he's not too much your kind of guy, JK. He did admit that he tried to permanently maim another player by fouling him very aggressively on the pitch. That wasn't just passion it was pure violence of which he seems quite proud.

Our paper said about how he walked out of the 2002 World Cup. I seem to recall he was sent home by the manager after refusing to take instruction.

Both of these incidents should have seen him barred from the professional game for life. He's learned nothing from his experiences.

Unpleasant and bitter - most certainly.

Also, disloyal.

But, one of the best post-war footballers....

One of the many who are unable to make the transition to management.
