My favourite news story 14 Years, 5 Months ago  
I love the opening of the new train station carrying people across the river Derwent.

It is so positive and an example of the human species at its best - faced with problems, we will solve them.

Well done to everyone concerned.

I was waiting on a train at Leeds earlier today to be delayed by an hour due to the death of a track worker further down the line.

I hate it when they announce those delays as 'due to a person under the train'. Why don't they just say a fatality or incident?

I suppose "corpse on the line" goes nicely with "leaves on the line".
